Welcome to the Sergio Garcia Junior Academy - PGA Catalunya Resort. A collaboration between The Sergio Garcia Foundation and PGA Catalunya Resort with a double objective: to train the next elite golfers and to make golf more accessible to children from all walks of life, through the diffusion of special “Golf Adapted” programs.
Nicknamed “El Niño” (The Kid) for being a precocious talent, Sergio competes in both the US PGA Tour and in the European Tour. Winner of the 2017 US Masters is one of the best spanish golfers of all time.
Sergio Garcia Foundation was established in February 2002 and is headed by Sergio Garcia. Since its inception, The Foundation promotes, develops and funds “Golf Adapted” courses throughout Spanish territory, aimed at young people with disabilities. More than 1.100 students have already attended these courses.
The Foundation also provides training courses run by the American professional Peter Longo, specialist in “Golf Adapted”, with the aim of teaching to Spanish golf professionals, the techniques that can allow handicapped children enjoy playing golf. Up until now, more than 400 Spanish professionals already have this capacity thanks to the Foundation courses.
Professionals at the Sergio Garcia Junior Academy have the certification of Training Course for Teachers of Special Golf Adapted Schools and they are developing a “Golf Adapted” program to be taught as part of the Academy.
